Parent Committee

Per the federal Office of Indian Education Title VI stipulations, the Indian Education Parent Committee (IEPC) serves a valuable purpose: "Consult with the LEA on the development, operation, and evaluation of the Indian Ed program."

The IEPC plays an important advisory role in approving the direction of the Title VI program. Any family member of a registered Indian Ed student in the district (i.e. has a 506 form on file) is welcome to join at any time. (Any family member = parent, guardian, grandparent, aunt, uncle.) Meeting dates are always published in advance in the Daily Press (Briefs section) and on our Escanaba Schools Indian Education Facebook page. Indian Ed families are encouraged to contact the Indian Ed Coordinator or any IEPC member with questions or comments.

Non-voting IEPC members: Lisa Cronick (Indian Ed Coordinator), Jason Micheau (LEA Rep)

We also maintain detailed communications with the Unit IV representatives of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and the Escanaba YEA Coordinator.
