Jim Beauchamp was elected to the School Board in 2018. Mr. Beauchamp has been a resident of Escanaba for 25 years and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1981. He is employed with Team Chevy in Manistique as a salesman. He is actively involved in the Eskymos Fan Club and is the father of three sons, Jim Jr., John, and Bryn, and two daughters, Ashley and Aly, all whom graduated from Escanaba High School. He is married to Linda Beauchamp and they enjoy spending time at their cottage on Lake Michigan, vacationing on Beaver Island, traveling and volunteering. He is a member of St. Anne Parish in Escanaba.

Steve Howes was appointed to the Escanaba Board of Education on September 27, 2021. He is a lifelong resident of Delta County. He is a 1981 graduate of Gladstone High School and has earned an Associate’s Degree in Social Work from Bay de Noc Community College along with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Behavioral Science with a minor in Sociology from Northern Michigan University.
Steve is the proud husband of the former Linda Carne and father of two sons, Nathan and Connor, who currently attend Escanaba Schools.
In November of 2018 he retired as a Probation/Parole Agent after 30 years working in state government, for a total of thirty-two years working in the criminal justice system. Steve has been involved in many affiliations and organizations. In 2018 Steve began work as a substitute teacher for all school districts in Delta County and at the same time working as a full time Private Detective. He is an active member of the Delta-Schoolcraft ISD Student Engagement and Mentoring Program and Student Mental Health Task Force. He is a former member of the Alliance against Violence and Abuse, the Local Prescription Medication Board, the Midwest Gang Investigators Association, the Delta County Gang Task Force Association, and the developer and coordinator of Project Trick or Treat. Other past affiliations include serving as a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church Counsel, Vice-President of the Escanaba Little League, founder of bringing in the Central Youth Football League to Escanaba, and assisting in the development of the Escanaba Junior Hoopster Basketball Program.
Steve’s goal while serving on the Escanaba Board of Education is to advocate for the community, the students, the faculty, and all staff and administrators of the Escanaba School District.

JJ Johnson-Reeves was elected to the Escanaba Board of Education in 2022. She was born and raised in Escanaba. Both of her parents are retired teachers of the Escanaba School District. She is a 1989 Top Ten EHS graduate; her sole sibling, a younger brother, graduated in 1996 from EHS.
She continued her education at Western Michigan University, studying Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Chemistry. After college, she was a substitute teacher for several years in all the Delta County schools before taking over and managing the Don Johnson Agency, a family business, 23 years ago.
She and her husband, Dr. Matthew Johnson-Reeves, a retired teacher/administrator of the Escanaba School District, have been married since 1995 and have lived in their downtown Escanaba home since 2000. Her hobbies include traveling, organic gourmet cooking, golfing and cheering on the MSU men’s basketball team.
JJ’s mission as a board member is to help shape the future of education in the Escanaba School District; ensuring all students' success and supporting all staff working with students. She is excited to partner with fellow board members to collaborate in formulating a clear and transparent vision for our school district for the future.

Todd Milkiewicz was appointed to the Board of Education in 2019. He graduated from Escanaba High School in 1981, and is a graduate of Bay College. A lifelong resident of Escanaba, Mr. Milkiewicz is a veteran who served in the United States Air Force. He has been employed by United Parcel Service since 1982. Mr. Milkiewicz married Kathy Polaczyk in 1986, and has three daughters – April, Sarah, and Brooke – all of whom graduated from EHS and reside in Escanaba. He has ten grandchildren. He is an usher and active member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Mr. Milkiewicz was previously the EHS JV softball coach, and president of the Escanaba Heartbreakers for 15+ years. He has also been very actively involved in Escanaba Little League for over 25 years, and currently serves as the organization’s Vice President. Mr. Milkiewicz served for many years as a member of the City of Escanaba Planning Commission. In his spare time, you will find him at the softball fields, hockey rink, on the turf, or hunting and fishing.

Sage Dubord joined the board of education in 2023. A lifelong resident of Escanaba, she graduated from EAHS in 2000 and from there went on to get her degree in business from Bay De Noc Community college. She also received her degree in respiratory therapy through Ferris State University and is a licensed respiratory therapist through the State of Michigan. Mrs. Dubord currently resides in Escanaba with her husband Jason and together they own and operate multiple small businesses in the area. She has five children, Jersie who graduated in 2020 and is currently in the Electrician’s Apprenticeship, Raegan, Harlow, Elliot, and Beckham all in the Escanaba area public school system. Sage is eager to serve all the families in the Escanaba school district and is hoping to provide a positive impact to the school board.

Angela Gardner was born and raised in Escanaba, graduating from Escanaba High School in 1996. Mrs. Gardner went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University. Angela is married to Tom Gardner who is currently an assistant coach for the Eskymo JV football team. They have 2 children who are Escanaba Eskymos and their youngest who attends the Learning Center- Go Tigers! Mrs Gardner has worked as a Program Manager for the MDS CAA Early Childhood Program for the past 21 years serving as the lead in the areas of family services and enrollment. She has a passion for the families in this community as well as education. She looks forward to the opportunity to give back to her community and help ensure that our education system is the highest quality it can be for our children.

Dan Flynn was elected to the Escanaba Board of Education in 2014. Mr. Flynn has been a resident of Escanaba for 44 years. Mr. Flynn is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in Education and a master's degree in Health Education. His educational experience includes teacher, coach, and administrator for the Escanaba Area Schools. Mr. Flynn served on the Michigan High School Athletic Association's elected governing board, the Representative Council, for 22 years as an Upper Peninsula member.
